VA Accepted into DirectTrust ATAB to Improve Interoperability
4/2/19 VA Fully Onboarded into the DirectTrust ATAB
J P Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that the VA has received acceptance into the DirectTrust Accredited Trust Anchor Bundle (ATAB) which dramatically improves the potential to increase care coordination and expands the exchange of veteran’s health information between VA clinics, and hospitals and community-based private-sector providers of veteran’s care. Used alone, VA Direct Messaging allows VA users to send and receive encrypted health information with community care providers. By participating in the DirectTrust ATAB, VA providers and staff can seamlessly engage in interoperable Direct messaging and exchange of patient information with thousands of their counterparts in community hospitals and clinics in all 50 states and US territories, through the use of the providers’ Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). Use of the DirectTrust trust framework enables a single trusted “on ramp” for providers exchanging health information across a network that currently connects over 1.8 million providers using over 350 certified EMRs nationally.
